Annual "Hit for Hope" tournament run by Austin Tennis Net update!
A wonderful event was held by the Austin Tennis Net organization and we were so happy to field a team....having fun....making friends....oh and by the way Winning the event!!
A special thank you to Lisa and Kunal for captaining the team, also Coach Jason for his efforts all weekend long! The "Hit for Hope" tournament was a fundraiser for the Austin Tennis Net organization and they helped support local charities like Set 2 Serve by donating funds to help us help the wonderful children in Austin!!

A lot of the children stayed late at the Annual MLK jr tennis day to enjoy the exhibition match put on by both the mens and womens St Edward's tennis team! Great fun was had by all!
Boys and Girls Clubs Fall Tennis!Set 2 Serve's weekly Fall tennis programs have begun! Fun Fridays at the East club is rocking and we are looking for volunteers to help the kiddos have fun! , Coach Kevin and his sons, Dakota and Hunter, Proudly awarding Marquis with his scholarship to the Austin Tennis Academy Spring break camp for his efforts at the Annual MLK jr tennis day. While all of the children there were great, Marquis showed great respect for others, was focused and eager to learn! A special thanks to Jack Newman for helping make dreams happen!
Quickstart tennis for the Rec centers of Austin has begun!March 9th, fun was had at Dove Springs Rec Center as Coach Kevin kickstarted the program with an introductory class for 12 wonderful kids and two eager to learn staff members! We played on Set 2 Serves newly painted quickstart lines! Now that the Fall tennis program is established for Mondays at 4, contact me at director@set2serve.net to join in on the fun as we provide opportunities for children to play!

East Boys & Girls Club member Marquis was awarded a scholarship to attend the Set2Serve tennis camp over the week of spring break due to his work ethic, sportsmanship, and skill. Set2Serve has been coming to the Boys & Girls East Club for years. Club Director Leo Santana says that "The Set2Serve mentors really care about our kids and work hard to offer them not only lessons about the game of tennis but teach them about respect, sportsmanship, honesty, integrity and the list could go on and on. We appreciate all that they do and hope that they continue to offer our kids this great opportunity." |
